Traditional Sacred Valley Tour
The three big names of the valley — Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero — plus the Taray viewpoint and a buffet lunch.
What you gain and what you take on when you visit the valley by yourself — and when a day tour is the better deal.
You can visit the Sacred Valley without a tour, using shared vans and taxis. In a single day, though, you arrange every connection yourself, Moray and Maras usually need a taxi, and there is no guide unless you hire one on site. A day tour covers pickup, transport between sites, a bilingual guide and lunch, from US$30.
Going on your own makes most sense if you have more than one day or want to sleep in the valley.
| On your own | Day tour | |
|---|---|---|
| Getting between sites | You arrange each leg: shared vans, local buses or taxis | Included, from your hotel to every stop and back |
| Moray and Maras | Off the main valley road — usually a taxi | Included on Super Sacred Valley |
| Guide | None, unless you hire one locally | Certified guide, English and Spanish |
| Lunch | You find a place and pay for it | Buffet in Urubamba included |
| Entrance tickets | You buy them | You buy them — add them in the Add-ons step |
| Planning | You work out connections and return times | A set schedule, confirmed the night before |
| Flexibility | Total: stay longer, sleep in the valley | Fixed times · the private tour is more flexible |
| Price | The sum of every ride, meal and guide you use | From US$30 per person, lunch included |
Your own vehicle, driver and guide on either route, for 2 to 12 travelers, with lunch at 14 Inkas.

Ask on WhatsAppIt can be, especially if you only visit one or two towns by shared van. Adding Moray and Maras by taxi, a guide and lunch changes the sum, so compare it with the tour price, which already covers all of that.
Yes, but they are off the main valley road, so most independent travelers get there by taxi. On the Super Sacred Valley tour, transport to both is included.
Yes. The sites need the Tourist Ticket whether you go on your own or with a tour, and Maras has its own entrance, run by the local community. With us, add them in the Add-ons step when you book.
