Traditional Sacred Valley Tour
The three big names of the valley — Pisac, Ollantaytambo and Chinchero — plus the Taray viewpoint and a buffet lunch.
A weaving town on the high plateau between Cusco and the valley — the first stop of Super Sacred Valley and the last of the Traditional.
Chinchero, at 3,762 m, is the highest point of both routes. A family of weavers takes you from raw alpaca fibre to finished cloth — yarn, plant colours and a loom tied at the waist — before the Inca terraces and the colonial church. Super Sacred Valley starts here at 7:40 AM for 1 h 15; the Traditional ends here at 4:45 PM for 1 hour.
It sits on the plateau, about 400 m higher than Cusco, so it is worth walking slowly.
From raw alpaca fibre to finished cloth: yarn on the spindle, colours from local plants, then the loom tied at the waist.
Terraces on the edge of the plateau, part of Chinchero’s archaeological park.
A church from colonial times at the heart of the site, next to the terraces.
On the Traditional, the visit includes the textile interpretation center at the end of the day.
Reference times from our regular departures.
The last stop, in the late-afternoon light: the textile interpretation center, the archaeological park and the colonial church before returning to Cusco.
See the Traditional · from US$30 →The first stop of the day, early in the morning: the weaving demonstration, then the terraces and the church while the plateau is still quiet.
See the Super Sacred Valley · from US$32 →Chinchero is covered by the partial Cusco Tourist Ticket on both routes — the same ticket that includes Moray, Ollantaytambo and Pisac. Add it in the Add-ons step when you book, or pay it in soles on the day.
