What to pack

What to Pack for a Sacred Valley Day Tour: the checklist

Everything you need for 11 to 13 hours between the plateau and the valley floor — tick it off as you pack.

In short

Packing, in short

For a Sacred Valley day tour, pack layers for a cold morning and a warm afternoon, sun protection, water, shoes with good grip and some soles in cash. In the rainy season, add a rain jacket. The day runs from 2,790 m to 3,762 m, so the temperature changes a lot between stops.

Lunch is included, so you only need snacks if you like to have them.

Comfortable shoes with good grip. The terraces of Pisac and Ollantaytambo have uneven stone steps; hiking boots are not necessary.

Yes, a warm layer. Mornings are cold, especially on Super Sacred Valley, which leaves at 6:20 AM and starts on the plateau at Chinchero (3,762 m), while the afternoon on the valley floor is usually warm.

Enough soles for the market and small extras. If you added your entrance tickets in the Add-ons step, you do not need cash for them.

In the rainy season, yes. Even in the dry season, a light jacket is useful for the wind on the plateau.
